After being in the RV industry for years I have seen time and time again people pay way to much for their R V. Every dealer has to make a profit on what they sell and has to make a profit on what they give you on your trade in , that is business but they are there to make as much money as possible. The great majority of salesmen are on a commission, the more they sell it for the more they make and they are well trained to get the most out of the sale. I was one of them, Bob was one of them and we know every trick in the book. I don’t know how many times I talked with people that had bought a motor home just a year ago and they were now “buried”, owed more than the current market of the RV today. I don’t mean just a few thousand dollars but $20,000 to $40,000 dollars. This was on diesel pushers and gas RV’s . Also 5th wheels and toy haulers.
